Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 8 pieces all beef hot dogs Can use fresh or leftover hot dogs.
  • ¼ cup barbecue sauce Use your favorite brand.
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar Adjust based on sweetness preference.
  • 1 Tbsp yellow mustard
  • ½ tsp hot sauce (optional) Adjust based on spice preference.
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp BBQ dry rub Choose any preferred spice blend.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place the hot dogs in the air fryer in a single layer with air space between them.
  2. Air fry at 400°F for 7-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until hot dogs are browned.
  3. Remove hot dogs from the air fryer and cut into approximately 1” pieces.
  4. Toss the hot dog pieces in a large bowl with the remaining ingredients, stirring until thoroughly mixed.
Cooking
  1. Add the coated hot dog chunks back into your air fryer in a single layer.
  2. Cook at 400°F for an additional 7-10 minutes, stirring after 4-5 minutes, until deep brown and caramelized to your liking.
Serving
  1. Serve with toothpicks as an appetizer or pair with your favorite sides for a meal.
  2. Optional: Add extra BBQ sauce after cooking for a saucier result.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer to regain crispness. To freeze, cool fully, pack and freeze for up to 2 months.
