Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cube the Fruited Sourdough Sandwich Bread and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned.
- Add diced onion and celery; cook until softened.
- Stir in the dried fruit, diced apple, and herbs; cook for a few more minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes and the sausage mixture.
- Pour in enough chicken broth to moisten the mixture, then add beaten eggs, salt, and pepper.
- Mix until well combined.
- Transfer to a greased 9" x 13" pan.
Baking
- Bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour, or until the top is golden and crisp.
- Serve warm.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. For freezing, cool completely, then store in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight before reheating.
