  • 2 pounds gold potatoes (washed and dried) Gold potatoes are preferred for their creamy texture and flavor.
  • 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
Spices
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Line a large baking tray with parchment paper.
  3. Cut the potatoes into 1/4-inch slices.
  4. Add the potato slices to a large ziplock bag.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Pour the spice mixture over the potatoes in the ziplock bag, then seal the bag.
  7. Use your hands to move the potatoes around in the bag, ensuring they are fully coated with the spice mixture.
  8. Pour the coated potato slices onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them out evenly.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes until fork-tender and golden brown.
  2. For extra crispy potatoes, turn on the broiler for an additional 2-3 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.

Baked potato slices are best served hot and can be enjoyed plain or with dipping sauces like ketchup, sour cream, or ranch dressing.
