  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded Shred cheese yourself for the best flavor.
Flavorings
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix Store-bought ranch seasoning is convenient.
  • 1/2 cup crispy bacon, crumbled Cook bacon until crispy for desired crunch.
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped Chop finely for even distribution in the mixture.
Optional Coating
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts Roll the cheese ball in nuts before serving for added crunch.

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, and ranch seasoning mix. Mix until well combined.
  2. Fold in the crumbled bacon and chopped green onions.
Forming the Cheese Ball
  1. Form the mixture into a ball shape and wrap in plastic wrap.
  2. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to firm up.
  3. If desired, roll the cheese ball in chopped pecans or walnuts before serving.
Serving
  1. Serve with crackers or vegetable sticks on a clean serving plate or board.

Notes

Replace bacon with roasted red peppers for a meat-free version. Mix in hot sauce for added heat. Experiment with different cheeses for variety.
