Method
Assembling the Jars
- Layer the Ingredients: Start with the flour. Spoon it into the jar and level it off. Next, add the baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Make sure to pack them down a bit.
- After that, add the brown sugar. Pack it firmly in the jar. Then, layer in the granulated sugar.
- Finally, top it all off with the M&M's or chocolate chips. Try to make the layers look pretty!
- Seal the Jar: Once all the ingredients are in the jar, put the lid on tightly.
- Add a Recipe Note: Print a note that includes the baking instructions. You can attach this to the jar with a ribbon or place it inside the jar before sealing it.
Baking the Cookies
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the contents of the jar with softened butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Combine until mixed well.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges look golden.
- Let cool and enjoy!
Notes
To serve, enjoy the cookies warm with milk or coffee. Freeze baked cookies in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
