Preparation
- In a large bowl, add the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Use a whisk to mix them well.
- Spoon the flour mixture into the bottom of your mason jar. Pack it down gently.
- Add the dark brown sugar over the flour layer and pack it down gently. Repeat with light brown sugar and then granulated sugar.
- Add your chosen mix-ins on top and fill the jar tightly.
- Close the jar tightly and optionally attach a small tag with baking instructions.
Baking
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, stir together the cooled melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Add all the jar ingredients to the bowl. Mix well until everything is combined.
- Drop rounded tablespoon-sized scoops of the dough onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes until the edges are light golden brown.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack or plate.
Notes
Store leftover cookies in an airtight container for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe bag for up to three months.
