Preparation
- Place the sauerkraut evenly across the base of the crockpot.
- Position the potato sections over the sauerkraut.
- Place the segmented Polish sausage on top of the potatoes.
- In a separate vessel, combine the chicken broth, caraway seeds, and bay leaf thoroughly.
- Pour the broth mixture over the ingredients in the crockpot. Season with salt and pepper according to preference.
Cooking
- Cover the crockpot with the lid. Set it to high and let it cook for 4 hours.
- After 4 hours, stir the contents thoroughly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with fresh bread for soaking up the broth, and it pairs well with a green salad or steamed vegetables. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
