Method

Preparation
  1. Plan which 3–5 recipes you will make. Keep time in mind. Pick one hot item and one cold item.
  2. Gather all ingredients and set them on a clean counter. This makes cooking easy.
  3. Preheat pans, oven, or griddle. Heat to medium for pancakes and eggs.
Cooking
  1. Make batter for pancakes, muffins, or waffles first. Use a whisk and medium bowl.
  2. Blend smoothies in the blender. Pour into cups and add fruit on top.
  3. Toast bread or bagels and cut hearts with a cookie cutter. Add jam or fruit.
  4. Cook eggs in molds or make egg-in-a-hole by cutting a heart in bread and frying an egg in the hole.
  5. Bake mini muffins or scones in a muffin tin. Let cool before removing.
  6. Dip strawberries in melted chocolate and set on parchment to cool.
  7. Plate items in a pretty way: group colors, add syrup drizzle, and finish with powdered sugar.

Notes

Serve with a small jar of jam and butter. For a charming setup, use red or pink napkins and add flowers for a romantic touch. Many items can be made ahead and frozen.
