  • 2 tsp Instant yeast
  • 1.5 tsp Salt
  • 1.5 cups Warm water

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, yeast, and salt.
  2. Add the warm water and stir with a wooden spoon until just combined. The dough will look shaggy.
  3. Cover with plastic wrap and a towel, and let it sit for 4-24 hours in a non-drafty place.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) with a Dutch oven inside for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and shape it gently into a round.
  3. Place the dough on parchment paper, lift it into the hot pot, cover, and bake for 30 minutes.
  4. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes to brown the crust.
  5. Let cool on a rack before slicing.

Notes

Serve slices warm with olive oil and herbs, or toast for breakfast. Portion control tip: generally, a one-inch slice is a good serving for most people.
