Gigi's Famous Apple Salad

Ingredients
  

Fruits and Cream
  • 1 green apple 1 green apple, cut into bite size pieces
  • 1 red apple 1 red apple, cut into bite size pieces
  • 1 cup 1 cup red grapes, halved long ways
  • 1 cup 1 cup green grapes, halved long ways
  • 2 cups 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 3 yellow bananas 3 yellow bananas, ripe but firm, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons 3 tablespoons lemon juice To prevent browning of fruit
  • 8 ounces 8 ounces Cool Whip, thawed

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cut red and green grapes and add to a large salad bowl.
  2. Cut red and green apple into bite size pieces (discard seeds and core) and toss with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Add to salad bowl.
  3. Peel and slice bananas. Toss with enough lemon juice to fully coat both sides of each slice. Add bananas to salad bowl.
  4. Add in marshmallows and toss the salad to combine.
  5. Add thawed Cool Whip to the bowl and toss all to combine.

Notes

Serve with plain baked chicken or roasted turkey for a light meal. This salad is best enjoyed fresh, ideally the same day it's made.
