Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or whole wheat flour)
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (thick consistency recommended) Full-fat yogurt preferred for best texture and flavor.
  • 1 large egg For egg wash.
Optional Toppings
  • everything bagel seasoning, cinnamon, shredded cheese, garlic & herbs, chocolate chips Choose your desired toppings.

Method
 

Mixing Ingredients
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk to distribute evenly.
  2. Pour Greek yogurt into the dry ingredients and mix until a shaggy dough forms.
Kneading and Shaping
  1. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 2-3 minutes until smooth and slightly elastic.
  2. Divide the dough into 4-6 equal pieces and roll into smooth balls.
  3. Poke a thumb through the center of each ball and stretch the hole wider to form a bagel.
Egg Wash and Baking
  1. Beat the egg with water in a small bowl and brush the mixture over each bagel.
  2. Sprinkle your chosen toppings onto the egg-washed bagels.
  3. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 400°F for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
Cooling
  1. Let the bagels cool on a wire rack for at least 5 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze individually wrapped for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature or warm in the oven.
