Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, milk, vanilla extract, and red food coloring until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough and roll them in granulated sugar.
- Place the dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set.
- Immediately after removing from the oven, press a Hershey's Kiss into the center of each cookie.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to three months. Serve warm or with a scoop of ice cream for an extra treat.
