Ingredients
  

Main ingredients
  • 40 pieces Oreo cookies, crushed
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 24 oz white chocolate, chopped or chips Use microwave-safe for melting.
  • 40 pieces mini Reese's peanut butter cups Used as decoration and handle.
  • 1 cup red Twizzlers licorice, cut into pieces Cut into 1-inch pieces for hooks.
  • to taste holiday sprinkles (nonpareils) For decoration.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Line a cookie sheet with wax paper or parchment paper.
  2. Cut the Twizzlers licorice into forty 1-inch pieces.
  3. Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a large ziplock bag and crushing with a rolling pin.
  4. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the Oreo crumbs with the softened cream cheese and stir until smooth.
  5. Scoop out 1-inch amounts of the mixture and roll them into balls, placing them on the prepared cookie sheet.
  6. Freeze the balls for 30 to 60 minutes.
Coating
  1. Melt the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl at 50 percent power in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  2. Take each mini Reese's peanut butter cup, insert a toothpick into the center, and dip it into the melted white chocolate coating the Oreo ball completely.
  3. Gently place the coated ball back on the sheet with the peanut butter cup facing up and remove the toothpick.
  4. Insert a piece of licorice into the top of the peanut butter cup to resemble an ornament hanger.
  5. Add sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet for decoration.
  6. Chill the truffles in the fridge for at least 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Ornament Oreo Truffles can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week or in the freezer for up to three months. Thaw overnight before serving.
