Preparation
- Line a cookie sheet with wax paper or parchment paper.
- Cut the Twizzlers licorice into forty 1-inch pieces.
- Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a large ziplock bag and crushing with a rolling pin.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the Oreo crumbs with the softened cream cheese and stir until smooth.
- Scoop out 1-inch amounts of the mixture and roll them into balls, placing them on the prepared cookie sheet.
- Freeze the balls for 30 to 60 minutes.
Coating
- Melt the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl at 50 percent power in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Take each mini Reese's peanut butter cup, insert a toothpick into the center, and dip it into the melted white chocolate coating the Oreo ball completely.
- Gently place the coated ball back on the sheet with the peanut butter cup facing up and remove the toothpick.
- Insert a piece of licorice into the top of the peanut butter cup to resemble an ornament hanger.
- Add sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet for decoration.
- Chill the truffles in the fridge for at least 15 minutes before serving.
Notes
Ornament Oreo Truffles can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week or in the freezer for up to three months. Thaw overnight before serving.
