Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef or steak strips Thinly sliced steak can be used for a closer texture to the sandwich.
  • 1 green bell pepper diced
  • 1 onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup beef broth Add a splash when reheating leftovers.
  • 12 oz penne or rigatoni pasta Short tubes help capture the sauce.
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese Can be substituted with American cheese or sharp cheddar.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Method
 

Cooking the Pasta
  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Sautéing Vegetables
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet. Sauté diced bell peppers, onions, and garlic until soft.
Cooking the Meat
  1. Add ground beef or steak strips to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper and cook until browned.
Making the Sauce
  1. Stir in cream cheese until melted, then add beef broth to create a smooth sauce.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Combine the pasta with the sauce and mix well.
Broiling
  1. Top with provolone cheese and broil until melted and bubbly. Serve warm.

Notes

Serve hot with a sprinkle of extra provolone or parmesan. A side of crusty bread or salad complements the dish. To freeze, cool completely and store in a suitable container.
