Sweet & Spicy Chili Sauce

A bright, tangy sauce combining pineapple juice, lime, rice vinegar, sambal oelek, hoisin, honey, and fresh ginger, perfect for dipping or glazing.

  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 2 Tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp lime juice
  • 1/4 cup sambal oelek
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tsp fresh grated ginger

Method
 

Cooking
  1. In a saucepan, stir all the ingredients together and bring to a light boil.
  2. Reduce the heat and simmer uncovered until reduced to where it coats the back of your spoon, about 20 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat, let cool, then transfer to a glass jar or other airtight container and store in the refrigerator.

Notes

Store the sauce in a clean glass jar or airtight container in the fridge. It will keep well for up to 2 weeks when refrigerated. For longer storage, freeze in ice cube trays and use within 3 months.
